Sometimes the most valuable tools in my shop are not expensive.
What matters most is how they simplify the job and make my life easier.
This is one of those tools. Small, seems too simple to mean much.
But it is one of my FAVORITES! Watch to understand why.

Plywood is stable. The edges are not.
Iron-on banding works, but it chips and peels over time.
Try this instead:
• Cut a centered V-groove in the plywood edge
• Mill matching solid hardwood banding
• Glue, clamp, trim flush
Stronger. Cleaner. Longer lasting.
Wax on a workbench looks nice.
It also makes boards slide.
A bench is a work-holding tool, not furniture.
Light oil > wax or heavy film finishes.
Grip matters more than shine.
