Hip hop survived actual violence, blackballing, censorship, labels exploiting artists, radio payola, and artists getting killed over records.

A lawsuit about corporate promotion and defamation standards isn’t gonna destroy the genre lol. If anything, it forces labels to be more careful, not rappers less creative.

The issue is a label allegedly choosing to heavily promote a song calling someone a pedophile. That’s completely different from ‘hip hop being under attack.’ If a corporation knowingly amplifies potentially defamatory accusations for profit, why should that just get a free pass because it's rap?
