I like Kants take on morality to a certain extent, it seems like a good choice for some scenarios, but when it comes to lies it’s doesn’t seem like that big of a deal to lie in some cases, you’re not really stripping that person of their autonomy you’re just being cordial #ewp22

When it comes to topics like slavery and whether it was bad or not I 100% agree with Kant in that you should automatically deem it bad instead of a utilitarian view of using hedonic calculus #ewp22

@rf_nate I thought the same thing, even though he might have advertised it as a great machine that makes your life better, the fact that you don't actually have normal interactions with real people and you just leave your family behind is extremely unappealing. #ewp22

After our discussion about Nozick’s experience machine no matter how many features you add to it to make it seem real and better than actually life, the fact that it isn’t totally authentic doesn’t sit right with me. #ewp22

I’m confused by what an utilitarian considers to be a right action. Because if it’s something that’s good for ourselves mentally and physically, wouldn’t they say that doing drugs is bad because in the long run it would be bad for us and not a right action anymore? #ewp22

I personally feel there is no better way in the “God Committee case” to choose the recipients by thinking about prior medical history of each person. In the scenario we did in class, I would never really think about financial contribution to society #ewp22
