The people for whom I feel the most rage this morning are the black women who, BY DESIGN, waited an extra 3 or 4 hours at the polls to vote for Stacey Abrams while 60%+ of white women coasted in and out of their polling place to support the man who arranged it that way.
Voting rights now in the midterm elections at my local library with my civically engaged @LipscombCOLPS colleagues because our choices matter! #whyivote#lipscombVotes
No! Individual change does not equal social change. Did you know that the most effective action against climate change is managing chemical refrigerants?! That’s got to take all of us changing our laws and policies, not just individuals’ habits. @LipscombISP@ProjectDrawdown
On the latest episode of #BisonTalk, Dodd Galbreath, founding director of Lipscomb’s Institute for Sustainable Practice, shares experiences from the summer travel study in Vermont and a little about what’s happening this fall. https://t.co/Om2nN7GNLl
@jedwardwalters I just listened to someone on Fox News speak out against toxic masculinity, displaying a completely wrong understanding of the concept. Caricatures of feminists are a tired trope employed to undermine feminism. Same with environmentalists, anarchists, others I can’t think of.
Bill Clinton was part of my early sex Ed, and my voice at the time was APPALLED. Eeeeew!!!! Why would anyone do that?! No, our president can’t do that, especially not with someone who isn’t his wife!!!!
“Where were you when Bill Clinton was assaulting women; I didn’t hear your voice then?!”
I don’t know, probably doing homework somewhere since I was a kid. 😂
Dysfunctional religious/political logic: ensure that people suffer so they'll turn to God. Strange God and strange politics. Don't support candidates like this, folks, in TN or elsewhere. #votecommongood instead!
Climate chaos is a justice issue. Economic justice. Racial justice. Migrant justice. Gender justice. Justice for the disabled and elderly. Justice for prisoners. These disasters drag into the light exactly who is already being thrown away. #FlorenceHurricane2018
They’ll kill you & say you had weed in your apartment.
They’ll kill you & say you were “no angel.”
They’ll kill you & say you put a middle finger up on your instagram.
They’ll kill you & say they thought your wallet was a gun.
They’ll kill you & always try to find a reason.
Intersectionality is importnat because it comes from women of color as knowledge producers, centers the voices of the marginalized and oppressed, and offers opportunities for coalition building. #IARSLCE2018
Tomorrow I'll vote in favor of #transit. I believe in essential, efficient and safe movement of people around this entire region in the next 50 years: for work, for arts, for health, for community-building. We've had years of hearing transit experts and data on our growth. ✅
