My fear is that this man is completely unrepentant.

Padayachee seems likely to repeat this conduct because he does not appear to recognise the seriousness of it or the harm caused by weaponising the law on the instructions of his superiors.

There should be appropriate consequences, including dismissal and prosecution where warranted.

People's lives, careers and reputations can be devastated by the abuse of legal processes.

Yet malume Padayachee remains combative throughout his testimony, almost as though he is performing for an IDAC audience rather than reflecting on the gravity of the allegations against him.
