The Netherlands is deeply concerned about the human rights situation in Georgia. We call upon Georgia to safeguard the fundamental freedoms of peaceful demonstration and media, and to engage in a constructive dialogue. #ViennaMechanism#OSCE

History was made on April 4, 1949.
For 75 years, @NATO has been the cornerstone of our collective defence, and indispensable to our security.
Today, we mark #1NATO75years and underline our longstanding bonds, close cooperation, and strong transatlantic Alliance.

It is 1 year since an @OSCE#MoscowMechanism report outlined the link between Russia’s internal repression and external aggression.
Today 🇮🇪 spoke on behalf of 39 OSCE States, conveying our concern at ever harsher repression in Russia.
My message at yesterday’s #UNSC meeting: The Kingdom of the Netherlands stands with #Ukraine and its people. We are providing financial support and giving Ukraine the means to defend its sovereignty. We will continue to do whatever it takes, for as long as it takes. #UNGA78
Today we commemorate the tragic loss of 298 innocent lives by the downing of Flight MH17, nine years ago. The pain is still deeply felt. My thoughts are with those who lost their loved ones on that fateful day.

States including NL invoked the #MoscowMechanism due to the continued deterioration of #HumanRights in #Belarus. The report confirms that Belarus continues its brutal crackdown on political opponents. Belarus must release all political prisoners immediately.
Every moment since the Russian invasion, the people of #Ukraine have shown us what it means to fight for freedom. It is a privilege to welcome President @ZelenskyyUa to The Hague, on the day we commemorate our WWII victims and honour their stories of bravery and resistance. 1/4
During the @OSCE Moscow Mechanism Mission of Experts fact-finding mission, the experts confirmed the horrifying policy of deportation and illegal transfer of Ukrainian children by Russia. The Netherlands underwrites this report and the various recommendations made. 1/3
The experts concluded that the number of unlawful transfers of Ukrainian children has multiplied as a result of Russia’s full-scale invasion. These children are exposed to measures of assimilation, including forced adoption - a grave violation of international law. 2/3
We demand that Russia takes full responsibility for its actions and follows-up the recommendations from the Mission of Experts. This independent report is an important step on our road to truth and accountability. We must do everything to stop Russia’s horrifying practices. 3/3
Ukrainian children who have been deported by Russia must be reunited with their families. Minister @ABaerbock and I, along with other partners, have urged for attention to this issue. We welcome the establishment of a fact-finding mission by the @OSCE. 1/3
The mission is established by activating the @OSCE Moscow Mechanism. This will allow independent experts to conduct a thorough investigation, collect and generate new data, and provide a report and recommendations on the topic of the deportation of Ukrainian children. 2/3
We must do everything we can to stop the deportation of these children and enable their safe and secure repatriation. The Netherlands will continue to raise awareness on this issue and call for accountability. We look forward to reviewing the mission’s findings. 3/3
Great to be discussing the crucial nexus between democracy & #mediafreedom and the importance of a safe working environment for journalists during the #SummitForDemocracy2023 in #thehague today.
The @OSCE has a long-standing tradition in fostering international cooperation in areas like security and human rights. Despite Russia trampling OSCE principles and blocking decisions, its valuable work continues. For example: offering support to Ukraine and its people. 1/3
