VSDCA

The VSDCA, Victoria's 2nd strongest cricket competition was formed on Aug 24, 1908. Over 100 years of competition, 40 clubs have been members of the subbies.

@appsivanhoe05 @PaulAmy375 @SubbiesCricket Got him some 1 on 1 sessions with Brendan Joyce last season. I don’t have any coaching roles mate, just help out. Kiker is going really well as coach this season

[Apps @appsivanhoe05]

@JamesLowrie24 @PaulAmy375 @SubbiesCricket Very nice James, good coaching set up with yourself, Geoff K & others. I keep an eye on Rayanjot games, at 13 you could see his batting smarts & love when young players have confidence to tell old fossils like me how to bat. Joti’d I did see bowl too last season, quality

@PaulAmy375 @SubbiesCricket @JamesLowrie24 Best young talent I’ve played with. Can bowl some useful leg spin too

[James Lowrie @JamesLowrie24]

@appsivanhoe05 @PaulAmy375 @SubbiesCricket Played with him and another 14 year old last year in 2’s. Both great talents. The other Conor Portelli made 129 in Melbourne 4’s the same day. Joti’d leg spin was very handy last year. Won our 2’s bowling

Heck of a knock from Elsternwick CC great Cam Christensen yday in @SubbiesCricket. Blitzed 98 off 96 (5 sixes, 7 fours) as Elsty ran down Balwyn's 297 after being 6-121. Fine cricketer and has been for season after season.

[Paul Amy @PaulAmy375]

Another youngster coming through in @SubbiesCricket. Rayanjot Singh, 15, hit 96no for the St Bernards First XI against Werribee, lifting it from 5-16. Was only his second start in the top team. A name to track, for sure. Thanks to @JamesLowrie24 for the alert.

Cricket has lost a great servant with the death of Ian Shields. For years he was a mighty volunteer at Ormond CC (premiership player, president, secretary, treasurer) and @SubbiesCricket, and when he moved to Castlemaine he got busy with the cricket and golf clubs. Wonderful man.

[Paul Amy @PaulAmy375]

And a boost for @SubbiesCricket club Malvern. The Roosters have locked in former St Kilda CC wicketkeeper-batsman Lewis English, who played 28 First XI matches in Premier Cricket. Some good players heading for the VSDCA in 2026-27.

[Paul Amy @PaulAmy375]

International Scott Edwards returning to @SubbiesCricket club Balwyn next season. The Tigers have also picked up a trio of Camberwell Magpies in Charlie Simondson, Simon Greene (returning) and James Jarrett. That's a tidy off-season. 🐯

[Paul Amy @PaulAmy375]

Nice boost for @SubbiesCricket mainstay Malvern, signing former Kingston Hawthorn and Fitzroy-Doncaster paceman Harrison Goad. He's in good nick: he ran the Gold Coast 10km event last weekend.

@WillySeagulls @SubbiesCricket One of the very best people i have had the pleasure to play with congratulations Doc wonderful recognition

[Williamstown CC @WillySeagulls]

HALL OF FAME 🥇 On Thurs evening our very own President Geoff Hart was inducted into the VSDCA Hall of Fame. Doc's commitment to both WCC & VSDCA remains outstanding and this recognition was a fantastic way to celebrate his work. We are all extremely proud 💙💛🏏 @SubbiesCricket

Dean Russ won the 2021-22 Ryder Medal in @vicpremcricket. And last night he won the Val Holten Medal in @SubbiesCricket, in a tie with another mainstay of Victorian club cricket, Glen Parker. Previous winners Sahan Perera and Jacob Thorne were equal second.

[Leader Local Cricket @leadercricket]

Epic count ... @WerribeeCC's Dean Russ and @BCC1842's Glen Parker join an elite group of cricketers have sharing the @SubbiesCricket Holten Medal.
