Subcommander Tal

I mostly riff on Original Series Star Trek (and also run @misterleslietos) Occasionally live tweeting #AllStarTrek and #TOSSatNight (mute to avoid logorrhea...)

“If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up the men to gather wood, divide the work, and give orders. Instead, teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea.”

I’m very sad to hear of the passing of Walter Koenig, aka Pavel Chekov from Star Trek. I got to meet him on a few occasions, and he was always genuine, thoughtful, and a little anxious in a way that made him very relatable. R.I.P.

@QuantaWave Franklin deserved better…

WALTER KOENIG. Happy Birthday to the original Mr. Chekov!! I’ve been fortunate to meet him on three occasions, and he has always been friendly but, more importantly, *genuine*…

@EmilySeal6 Thanks for that, I’lo check it

@GalaxyConRVA POSTSCRIPT. The other cool thing about Walter of course is that he’s one of us! A genuine genre fan. More than any other cast member I think he understood the slightly obsessive mindset of the Trek fan…

@Norsehound @Daniel__Bach It may be gauche to even speculate but I agree with you. I have a feeling Shatner may outlive Patrick Stewart. And Takei looked like he was in decline in the recent 60th Anniversary film. We all have our time.
