I think I’ve used this water bottle carrier from Ultimate Direction about ten times total, and it broke the second time I switched hands yesterday. Surprised given how durable my older carriers have been.
Well, I recently got a new pair of Altra shoes after trouble with Hoka, and they’re worse. Felt fine at the store but loads of problems after a few miles.
When I bought my tri-bike, I should have read an article like this and ordered a bike instead of buying one that was in stock at the time. https://t.co/rI0KnnJDct
I went with double socks like I often wear with my Altras and felt a bit better on my Monday run. We'll see what happens as I continue to break them in.
I recently switched from a Hoka Clifton 6 to Hoka Clifton 9, and as of the 3rd run, I'm seriously debating whether or not I can continue running in the 9's.
I strike mid to forefoot, and I'm feeling as much or more impact in the 9's as I was the 6's. There's also a discomfort in the mid-foot padding that I don't recall from the 6's when they were new, like it's too much padding in comparison to the forefoot padding.
It's been a year since my last significant back injury, and even though it's still not perfect, it has reached the stage where it is better than it was before the injury.
Finally got outside for a run yesterday, 4 miles @ 8:15/mile Really strange to run in 60 degree weather and dodge piles of ice/sleet at road crossings.
I've tried a lot of different hydration strategies for endurance #running over the years, and I've now come full circle to Coconut Water. I'm not a huge fan of the taste, but Zico is decent, as are several other brands.
@tyronem Well, I guess they could always be NPCs, but I would assume there are real people, too. If you're not seeing anyone, the area in and around the Watopia track usually has runners and cyclists nearby.
Decided to hop onto #zwift for my first #cycling in forever. Zwift looks as busy as ever, huge packs of group rides all over the place and lots of solo runners and cyclists sprinkled throughout Watopia. This may have been the only quiet section of the ride.
My experience tracks with this thread from @DoctorsRunning. I've been rotating Hoka Cliftons, Altra Paradigm, Altra Lone Peak, and Flyknit Free for several years. Lower leg injuries are rare (non-scientific study, sample size 1) since switching from rotating 2 of the same shoe.
Despite the continued excitement around super shoes, we at Doctors of Running have continued to suggest using a variety of shoes not just for daily training but also for workouts. 🧵
