Democracy is a luxury enjoyed by the rich nations.Therea is hardly any country which is poor as well as purely democratic - India managed that, survived and is thriving.

For the lesser initiated Durga Puja was never ON THE ROADS and never ever it has so happened that traffic had to come to a screeching halt for the duration.
It is pure propaganda with malafide intent when people compare Durga Puja, Kanwar Yatra, Ganpati with reading Namaaz on the streets.

TMC’s anti-Hindu politics under Mamata? Well-documented: Hindu processions routinely blocked or attacked, post-poll violence against BJP (mostly Hindu) workers ignored, Waqf land grabs, and open appeasement while calling out “Ganda Dharm” for anything pro-Hindu. No anxiety then about "peak atrocities" against non-Muslims? Selective worry only kicks in when the majority asserts itself democratically. Hindutva's rise is largely a reaction to decades of one-sided appeasement, demographic pushes, and denial of Hindu concerns. Law-abiding Indian Muslims have nothing to fear in a Hindu-majority democracy that still gives them far more security and rights than most Muslim-majority countries offer their own minorities. Drop the victim narrative, integrate fully as Indians first, and support equal application of law (no selective outrage). Hindus endured far worse under Islamist rule and partitions — yet built a secular republic. Reciprocity and national loyalty would solve most of this "anxiety." India is for all Indians, not vote banks.
