@michaelsherrill@JustAFamilyMan_ It was admittedly over 20 years ago when i spent significant time there and visited a couple of the smaller cities. What I've seen online since seems to indicate that they are struggling on some level with retaining decent wage jobs and professionals like doctors, dentists, etc
@JustAFamilyMan_ I feel like I never see the actual origin of this comic. I first saw it on a Christian hip-hop focused website called The Yunion around 2003-ish
@JustAFamilyMan_ Spaniards get upset if you refer to Ceuta as anything other than Spain lol, colonial relic that it is. The Dems in the US have to take this as a message. They can never again allow similar scenes on the US border like they did under Biden. Keep the wall and the secure border.
@JustAFamilyMan_@WayTwoSmooth Many elites from Africa still end up living much of their lives abroad though. Once they complete schooling in the US, what would make them return to Ghana as opposed to building lives in the USA, especially if they eventually romantically partner with someone from the USA?
@JustAFamilyMan_ Interesting contrast to the Lebanese of West Africa or the Indians of East Africa, who seem content to keep their influence in the economic realm and not so much in the political arena.
@JustAFamilyMan_ I'd say they aren't unique in that tho. Almost every non-black culture and society hates black people, yet we still travel to many of those places. It's just more shameful for South Africa given their history and place on the continent.
@JustAFamilyMan_ It's not a scam. People mostly don't understand the alternative career paths though. And those who push physical careers like building trades need to think about why previous generations didn't want their children to do that work.
@JustAFamilyMan_ Too many, and I bet most of them are on the left politically. Anti Trump and anti America whenever they get the chance or an excuse. Plus so many Americans romanticize Europe and put it on a pedestal. This is the perfect storm for them. Lets go USA!
@JustAFamilyMan_@BobMann2001 MD and the DMV have a lot of wealthy cosmopolitan people who would attend a big name game. I don't think we can compare it to many other areas. Soccer is either upper middle class coded, or pretentious people who pretend to love Euro leagues, or kids sports. And I like soccer lol
@ohsnapholdup@JustAFamilyMan_@black0nx That poll is just self-declared "fandom". Is that supported by game attendance, tv ratings, or merchandise sales? I have a hard time seeing soccer outpacing football, basketball or even baseball in the US. It can surpass hockey though.
