An account to address and minimize the subliminal gender degradation and stereotyping that occurs within the workplace, advertisements and basic conversation.
I challenge college students to become more aware of the words they use in everyday conversation.
I challenge them to fight to eliminate subliminal messages and thoughts of gender stereotyping and bias to the best of their abilities.

I challenge employers in the workplace to enforce gender equity during performance reviews - use same criticism and evaluation techniques - as well as an overall gender impartial environment.
Do not think that you are an exception or are immune to the subliminal messages of gender stereotyping and degradation.
The messages will subconsciously have an affect on the way you think, believe or perceive things in the future.

Essentially, the words and phrases you speak is a reflection of your culture.
Do we want our American culture to be defined as sexist and gender degrading?
Surround yourself with positivity and equality so you do not experience the power of subliminal messages.
At college, it‘s vital to surround yourself with people and an environment that not only PROMOTES gender equality but ENFORCES it.
Because while you may not notice, subliminal messages coming from the words people use and the words you see have an effect.

Advertisements and words have the ability to subconsciously affect a person’s confidence, abilities, mentality, decisions... what else?? #ThinkBeforeYouSpeak#TheEffectIsReal
The transition into college is a crucial period in developing a college student’s belief. Therefore, we must work to eliminate these gender stereotypes in conversation and media around us #Equality

As harmless as these advertisements may seem... the subliminal messages of what it means to be “perfect” or beautiful are being sent through these images. Studies have shown these advertisements have an unintentional negative effect on a woman’s self worth and confidence.
