@okaythenfuture I wish it was more common among American LARPers actually. More of the "I am Italian" American LARPers should actually do what he did: learn the language and culture in dept. Make the LARP interesting at least.
@AbudBakri Isn't this the current meta for bodybuilders in contest prep? Use HGH and Reta and then T4/T3 to compensate for the HGH and Reta downregulating T3.
@_alice_evans Romance as portrayed in these shows and books is similar to what porn does to men: creates a false and performative mise en scène that raises expectations and leads to disappointment when reality is encountered. From there follows isolation and further retreat into fantasy.
@_alice_evans This can almost be entirely explained by a combination of high levels of female education plus biting economic sanctions causing a lot of economic misery.
@WestsideLAGuy I much prefer NYC to LA even post-covid. Particularly now that it is late spring / summer, the energy around the city is simply unmatched.
@TheStalwart Matches my experience. I have found ChatGPT and Claude to be much worse for multimodal tasks than Gemini. It is the only area where I still use Gemini.
@TheStalwart The Opus models have been getting worse for writing and non-coding / STEM tasks since Opus 4.5. Each subsequent version has been a regression on that axis. Anthropic is clearly prioritizing their main revenue source.
@TheMindScourge The ENS produced a high number of Nobel Prizes and Fields Medal which is definitely worth it. Also worth mentioning French universities don't follow the ENS model and are pretty chill.
@AntonDahr@TotemMacro No it is not supposed to be equal in function but merely help explain it. All analogies are imperfect in that regard and that is the reason they are never used in rigorous proofs unlike equivalences which ARE equal in function.
@marcinu14@TotemMacro Same way that expensive gasoline cars run at max 40% efficiency. This is a fact of life you find throughout all engineering fields.
@TotemMacro Yes. The same way a car can't rev up its engine to 100% all the time when driving because it has to interact with the real world. GPU clusters interact with networks, memory, data, CPUs, faults which limits their utilization.
@matthewstoller This is objectively false though: the US frontier labs also have efficient versions of their expensive frontier models. Gemini Flash, GPT mini, Claude Sonnet etc.
@NicoleGrajewski I respect you for changing your opinion on Pahlavi from January. Wish more people in the community would update their priors when information changes: he just does not have the required political skills to lead a successful change movement.
