Peter Obi: The CBN Governor and his team are doing well with the Monetary side of the economy.
Rufai: But the President Tinubu you are criticizing is the one that put the CBN Governor there.
Peter Obi: No No No No, itβs not a question of who put him there.

In the 2022 Ekiti governorship election, APCβs Biodun Oyebanji secured 187,057 votes.
In the 2023 presidential election, APCβs Bola Ahmed Tinubu secured 201,486 votes in the state.
Now, in 2026, Governor Oyebanji has already polled over 300,000 votes, representing more than a 55% increase from his 2022 tally.
The trend is clear: APCβs support base in Ekiti continues to expand. If this momentum is sustained, the party is well-positioned to deliver a significantly higher vote total for President Tinubu in 2027. While opposition parties are struggling to maintain their traditional strongholds, APC appears to be growing stronger and more entrenched in the state with each election cycle.
Rabiu Kwankwaso and Seyi Makinde are playing the same game ahead of 2031.
For Seyi, it is about protecting his base with APM and lock down his structure. This would increase his political value and position him for a VP in 2031.
Kwankwaso played similar game in 2023 and today he's running as a VP to Peter Obi.
Both Seyi and Kwankwaso are getting their political permutations correct but I can't say the same for Kenneth Okonkwo.

Nobody really knows the pressure, the stress, and the silent battles they go through every day.
May God give them strength, help, and breakthrough π
