We actively catalyze community level economic growth by executing targeted grid line extensions and network reliability upgrades. By delivering stable, high capacity power, we remove a critical barrier to entry for local entrepreneurs, optimize the daily operations of existing enterprises, and de-risk expansion investments for growing businesses.
Our infrastructure works do not just deliver electricity; they build the foundational capacity for job creation, household income growth, and sustainable community development.

For sometime, the power line linking Waligo and Kawanda Substation suffered avian interference by birds feeding off this dump site causing frequent bird-induced outages, electrocuting the birds and posing potential safety risks to the Community.
#UEDCLinService now installing bird interrupt covers to curtail avian interference and improve the reliability of the line.

The works are expected to restore network reliability, reduce the frequency and duration of power interruptions, and improve the quality of electricity supply for households, businesses and industries. In addition, the upgraded network will enhance the evacuation of power generated by hydropower plants in the Rwenzori region, supporting increased electricity demand and driving economic growth across western Uganda.
