An Indonesian delegation visited Food Corporation of India Headquarters in New Delhi to understand the structure and functioning of FCI. The delegation was briefed about the supply chain management of food grains undertaken by FCI to ensure food security of the nation and safeguarding interests of the farmers and consumers. The delegation appreciated the Herculean task of FCI of maintaining food grain availability in every nook and corner of the country.

FCI stores food grains following scientific code of practices. Because of strict preservation and inspection protocols, it is ensured that no foodgrains becomes damaged during storage. Some foodgrains being perishable in nature gets damaged majorly due to natural calamities
