#boattailedgrackle In my garden. He's doing so well still and is such a character. He was on the garden fence this morning when I went to put some food out for him. Greeted me with a low 'chuck' sound but not heard him sing yet
@Brians_birds Sorry only just seen your comment. Yes, this was taken yesterday. He's been on a couple of adventures; he even went as far as Whiteparish in Wiltshire, but has always come home to us so far
@Briansbirding Yes that's our garden. He's very vocal..Maybe calling for his mate, poor thing ,and wondering where the rest of his flock is. He seems to be adapting though as he'd hide away if it was a rainy day , and would only make small warning sounds but now chatters and sings too!
@grok@FLAGBIZZ Yes short for boat tailed โบ๏ธ They think he accidentally hitched a ride on a ship sailing from the USA to Southampton, UK. He was initially seen in Calshot which is very near to Southampton & then a few days later turned up in my garden! He's been here for a couple of weeks now
@hantsbirdnews Can you please stop posting both mine and my neighbour's house number/address. This is a breach of privacy & it's illegal to post someone's address online without their permission. My neighbour is extremely angry & it's now bordering on harassment
@hantsbirdnews Please don't post my address online. I appreciate people want to see the bird, but it's not on to put our address out there for everyone to see
@hantsbirdnews Can you please not put my address online for everyone to know, we're being inundated as it is, so would appreciate it's removal. Thank you
@sferguk So lovely to chat to you all. Been a very busy day again today. The BTG was in our garden for well over half an hour, without flying off, almost as though he knew he was the center of attention and was walking the red carpet lol
@sferguk Lovely to see you all and have a chat. We were both so pleased you had plenty of opportunity for some great photos and to see him. He's certainly not a shy bird lol
@GaryWatton1 You were all very welcome Gary. So pleased you all had the opportunity to see and photograph him, especially with so many of you travelling a long way just on the off chance of seeing him!
It's been so busy here for the last week with visits from birdwatchers and photographers in our garden. The only time a #boattailedgrackle has been on UK soil and he chooses to stay in and around my garden each day! #firstuksighting#beautifulbird#feelingsolucky
