Played five seasons in the NFL with the Saints, Cardinals and Miami Dolphins.
Following his professional career, became a longtime offensive coordinator and teacher at Walt Whitman High School.
He’s also in the Sayville Athletic Hall of Fame.
A Sayville native, Mike Buck is a former NFL quarterback and one of the most accomplished players in the history of the University of Maine football program.
He was named Yankee Conference Offensive Player of the Year in both 1987 and 1989. Led Maine to a share of the Yankee Conference championship and multiple NCAA Tournament appearances.
In 1990, he was drafted by the New Orleans Saints.
A legacy that will never be forgotten. Bryan Bonin built more than a championship baseball program at Commack High School.
Gone too soon, but his legacy lives on. ⚾️
Congratulations to the Piston Knockers on their induction into the Suffolk County Sports Hall of Fame!
The Hall has a long history of honoring local fire department racing teams. The 7x state champs brought the whole crew last week and celebrated their community.
We will never forget the sacrifice and legacy of United States Army Lieutenant Raymond Enners, who was posthumously inducted into the Suffolk County Sports Hall of Fame in 1991.
He died on Sept. 18, 1968, on the battlefield in Vietnam, saving another soldier from Long Island.
Thanks to the @LIDucks for their ongoing partnership with the Suffolk County Sports Hall of Fame to tell the story of Ducks hockey and baseball history!
Our updated exhibit was recently unveiled at the start of the 2026 season.

Another library exhibit in the books (see what I did there 😏). Thanks to Lindenhurst Library for partnering with the Suffolk County Sports Hall of Fame on our fourth library exhibit and 11th overall.
Thanks again to Jamie LaBelle for coordinating.
It was also special to have former basketball All-American Monika Kost with us for the ribbon cutting. She will be inducted to the Hall this week!
The more eyes on our inductees and mission, the better. We are celebrating America 250 through expansion, education and keeping the legacies of our Hall of Famers alive. 📚
🏆 Congratulations to the 2026 Suffolk County Athletes of the Year!

The love and support in the room for our 2026 @SuffolkHOF induction were electric. Every inductee brought their village. It’s always bigger than the inductee. It’s really about family and community. You could see it. You could feel it. 🧵
Our third @SuffolkHOF library exhibit, and 11th exhibit overall, is at Bayport-Blue Point Library, a gorgeous location on the south shore.
We cut a ribbon last week and said a few words about the meaning of community while being joined by the families of a few inductees. Dr. Donatelli, a BBP resident, also spoke about his career.
This exhibit will rotate locations and seasons within the library, which is a converted convent and one of the most unique libraries on Long Island with tremendous history.
Special thanks to Suffolk Sports Hall of Famer, Jamie LaBelle, for organizing. Much more to come!
Honor the past, inspire the future.🏅 📚
History lives here in Suffolk County.
Tonight, we proudly unveiled our eighth Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame exhibit … the latest at the Hauppauge Library, celebrating inductees with strong ties to the Hauppauge community and their lasting impact on local sports history.
This exhibit is part of our new 2026 initiative to bring the Hall of Fame into local libraries, making these stories more accessible than ever. Hauppauge marks our second installation, following last month’s debut in Brentwood, with several more planned throughout the year as we expand our historical efforts during America 250.
Special thank you to HOFer and committee member Jamie LaBelle for spearheading the library exhibit initiative.
Honor the past. Inspire the future. 🇺🇸
🎥Thanks to @Gregg_Sarra for having me on @Newsday TV this week to talk about this year's @SuffolkHOF induction class.

The Suffolk County Sports Hall of Fame (@SuffolkHOF) on #LongIsland proudly unveiled its newest community exhibit at the Brentwood Public Library, celebrating Brentwood alumni and residents whose achievements have made a lasting impact on the local community and the world of sports.
The exhibit is part of the Hall of Fame’s ongoing America 250 campaign, an ambitious initiative designed to expand public access to Suffolk County’s rich sports history through a growing network of exhibits across the region. This marks the seventh exhibit established by the organization, with several more planned throughout 2026.

Congrats to former @LuHiGBasketball star Syla Swords & @SuffolkHOF member Kim Barnes Arico for earning a #2-seed in the NCAA Tourney, #Michigan's highest seed ever. Some well earned dance moves!
