The momentum we built to get this across the finish line is the same momentum we’ll be carrying into the next session, and the one after that. We’ve proven and continued to demonstrate what’s possible when police labor stays organized and stays unified.
A big thanks to all the other police unions who prioritized the push for Tier 5 and 6 pension reform and the Police Conference of New York, who has been a leading voice for Tier reform on behalf of police labor across this state.
This is a big step forward, but the work continues. Looking ahead, there’s more we want to accomplish for our members, and there’s more of Tier reform we’re going to keep pushing for.
On this Memorial Day, the SOA honors and remembers the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Their courage and service will never be forgotten.
