The whole timing and coordinated “food inspection” ongoing in Kolkata eateries specially before the festive season looks extremely suspicious amd more of an effort to restrict the sale and consumption of non vegetarians food than “hygiene”.
One cannot also overlook the fact that food chains will now have to pay up hefty “fines” for licensing and other issues. You know what that means.
You will not see food safety inspections in Haldiram, Bhikaram Chandmal, “pure vegetarian” eateries, extremely unhygienic food shacks in Burrabazar area like Changiani etc.
