Sugarloaf Explorer is operated by Western Maine Transportation and provides scheduled service between the Valley, Condo areas and Sugarloaf during ski season.
With the 40 degree weather in the forecast, all routes will go "On Call" tomorrow at 10:00 AM to prevent further damage to the roads and our equipment. Hours will remain 8:00 to 4:30.
As of 9:15. Rt 1 - OK, Rt 2 nothing above Penobscott, Rt 3- OK, Rt 4 NO Fall Line or Snowflower, walkout to the paved road, Rt 5 - No Nice Dr, Rt 6 - no parking lots, Rt 7 - OK, Rt 7A - OK, Rt 8 - OK, Rt 9 - OK. SUBJECT TO CHANGE. Everyone is doing the best they can.

Happy Saturday kids, today we are running on the Weekend / Holiday Schedule from 7:30 until 5:00 PM, after which we'll have evening service until 1:00 AM. Due to road conditions, we are not going down Nice drive and Birchwood. So far everything else in Good to Go! ๐โท๏ธ
3/18, 8:00 AM. Happy Wednesday - we'll be running on the Weekday Schedule from 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM. With the exception of Baxter, Boynton, The 2nd Bridge, Birchwood and Nice Drive, everything is open.... for now. If anything changes, we'll let you know.
Good morning, After touring the roads and looking at the weather for the next few days, all routes will go "On Call" at 10:00AM. Best guess to go back on a normal schedule will be Wednesday and that's only if the temperature drops during the day on Tuesday and it stays cold.
We're on the Weekend Holiday from 7:30 until 5:00 PM. We are not going down Nice Drive due to road conditions. This time of the year we try to deal with the thaw / freeze on dirt roads as best we can. But there is still winter to enjoy so get at it!! โท๏ธ๐
Today all routes will go "On Call" at 10:00 AM. The buses are still breaking though on the dirt roads. Everything service begins at 4:30. Tomorrow we'll operate on our normal Weekend schedule beginning at 7:30.
It appears that one more day will be needed to allow the roads to dry out and freeze up. All routes will go "On Call" @ 10:00 AM this morning. We anticipate regularly scheduled service will resume tomorrow, 3/13.
