Theorist-strategists at Anthropic (which makes Claude) fancy they are making god-like overlords for us, for a new millennial golden age.
We are all guessing how this will play out; but there will only ever be one God.
I’m here for the “people need to learn/relearn how to budget wisely” plus “you shouldn’t have to take out a second mortgage to eat at a restaurant” crowd.
Addendum: I do acknowledge that video games can be highly addictive and can often stunt the growth and maturity of young men. This should not, however, be a veneer for passing judgment on entire swath of people who consider it an occasional and worthwhile hobby.
Video games let me bond over Mario Kart with my young kids. This app often gets me annoyed and irritable, which can carry over into interactions with my family. So take it with grain of salt when social media pundits try to tell you which is the bigger waste of time.

One big wedge against the fear of AI taking our jobs is to develop soft skills. AI will never replace real human interaction, leadership, emotion, and complexity. Spend less time on the phone and more time actually talking to people.
@Digitalliturgy@WSJFreeEx I agree we need to kill the misunderstood villain trope. I disagree w/r/t Stranger Things. S5 started going that direction, but the finale made it clear that Henry/Vecna willingly chose the path of evil and did get his comeuppance. I say this as someone mixed on S5 as a whole.
