It had been raining over Fontaine since early morning.

Normally Furina would have complained that the weather was ruining the day, but somehow it felt different today. The little café by the canal was warm, the windows were covered in tiny raindrops and the smell of fresh tea filled the whole room.

She quietly sat down by the window, wrapped both hands around her cup and watched people hurry through the streets with their umbrellas. Nobody paid much attention to her. It was… nice.

After everything that had happened, moments like these almost felt unreal. No performances. No pressure. No pretending to be someone she wasn’t. Just a quiet morning and a warm drink.

The owner brought over a small slice of cake with a smile.

“I thought you might like this.”

Furina blinked for a second before smiling back.

“Thank you… that’s really kind.”

She took a small bite and couldn’t help smiling a little more. Maybe the people of Fontaine had always been this warm. Maybe she had just never slowed down enough to notice.

For another hour she simply stayed there, listening to the rain tapping softly against the window while writing little notes in her journal. Books she wanted to read. Places she wanted to visit. Cafés she wanted to come back to.

It wasn’t an important day.

Nothing exciting happened.

But somehow, it became one of her favorite mornings.
