Today at @OurCommons Conservative @CPC_HQ Foreign Affairs Shadow Min @ErinOTooleMP questioned #PMJT gov't when they'll side w/ Canadians on #HongKong 🇭🇰, where Canadians gave their lives defending 75 yrs ago & 300,000+ citizens live today.
#InternationalHumanRightsDay#CdnPoli
Today is Human Rights Day around the world. I marked this day by pointing out the ongoing human rights abuses by the People's Republic of China, both in Hong Kong and in mainland China as they round up minority Muslims. Canada must do more to stand up to this tyranny. #cdnpoli
Today, I met with some of the brave men & women from #HongKong that are on the front lines fighting for human rights & democracy!
Their stories are heart breaking, but also stories of hope. They won’t give up until Communist China gives them the autonomy they were promised!
President Xi:
The Hong Kong Freedom and Democracy Act represents what America really thinks about your polices towards Hong Kong
Not what President Trump says or fails to say
This legislation shows what America thinks about the Chinese Communist party’s treatment of Hong Kong
The people of Hong Kong have faced unspeakable violence while fighting for democracy & against oppression. I fully support the Hong Kong protesters and am proud that the #HongKongHumanRightsandDemocracyAct passed overwhelmingly in the House.

Lord Hogan-Howe has just said:
“Reports that police in Hong Kong are armed with live ammunition and approaching the sit-ins is alarming. I urge the police to not use lethal force because it can only make the situation worse. Unless life is at risk hold back.”
#StandWithHongKong
China is waging a shocking, merciless campaign to erase the religious and ethnic identity of millions. The United States has a responsibility to speak out. This president’s silence has a cost.
Rare legal victory for #HongKong protesters: The High Court just ruled that Carrie Lam’s mask ban last month is unconstitutional. I encourage supporters of our movement to retain (or add, if you haven’t) a 😷 emoji after your name to stand in solidarity. https://t.co/56MVOwAwkZ
On Nathan Road, main street of Kowloon, Hong Kong people are united and form long human chains to transport supply to the frontline. We must save ppl who got trapped in #PolyUHK!
We are very concerned about the escalating violence in #HongKong, & reports that police may use live ammunition on protestors. An urgent inquiry into police abuse is critical. HK authorities must comply with international law on the use of force & seek to de-escalate the crisis.
.@tiktok_us is a China-backed company required by Chinese law to share Americans’ data w/ Chinese Communist Party. I’m introducing legislation today to stop that and keep Americans’ personal info safe https://t.co/Uk1y1R4kgy
Prominent Hong Kong democracy activist Joshua Wong on Sunday urged the German government to stop military training assistance to China following the appearance of Chinese troops on the streets of the protest-hit Asian financial hub, a German daily reported

#LIVE: The human supply chain, which has not been seen for a long time, revives the 2nd day @HongKongPolyU is under siege. Those sturdier run between both ends of the rainbow while others pass along supplies, like bamboo sticks and scissors, to build barricades. #HongKongProtests
China has been arbitrarily detaining our colleague #MichaelKovrig for 343 days.

Overall UK political silence about Hong Kong with exceptions eg @ChukaUmunna, @TomTugendhat
Barry Gardiner for Labour condemns police but unable to answer when asked if British National overseas passport holders in HK should be given automatic right of abode and to work in UK.
