I thank His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the establishment of a new army battalion in Kwara State.

The army battalion, which is to be located in Omu Aran, Irepodun Local Government Area, effectively commits more boots and military hardware to neutralise security threats in our state.

Specifically, I express our appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu for the swiftness with which he graciously processed our request for more hands to strengthen the presence of the Army in the state.

I also acknowledge the support of the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and the gallantry of all the security forces, including the Defence, DSS and the police, in the campaign against terrorism, banditry, and other violent crimes.

On behalf of the people and government of our state, I wholeheartedly thank Mr. President for yet another promise kept to the state. We are confident that the new battalion will greatly strengthen counterterrorism and anti-kidnapping operations across various theatres.

We also note other discreet, multi-agency efforts of government to stamp out kidnappings, free all victims, and clear all unwanted elements from our forests. Our government will continue to support the security establishment in their ongoing operations to ensure peace and safety in our communities.

May the Almighty, in His infinite goodness, crown the efforts of Ms. @tola_odeyemi with immense success.

Once every location in Nigeria has its own unique digital postcode, anyone will be able to verify an address from the comfort of their home.

Imagine being able to determine instantly whether a so-called university is actually operating from a three-bedroom apartment.

If someone checks the address and still chooses to proceed, it certainly won't be for lack of information.

The audacity of some of these criminals is astonishing. They behave as though they will never be caught or that even if they are, they will somehow wriggle their way out of it.

Digital postcodes are about far more than mail delivery; they are about transparency, accountability and helping Nigerians make informed decisions.

📌Abuja Declaration: A New Chapter for Nigeria's Cocoa Industry

The Abuja Declaration on Cocoa Value Addition, signed by Nigeria, Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire and Cameroon, marks a significant step toward ensuring that more of the wealth generated from cocoa remains in Africa. Instead of relying mainly on raw cocoa exports, the four countries aim to expand local processing, create jobs, attract investment and earn more from value-added products such as cocoa butter, powder and chocolate.

While reports initially suggested a ban on raw cocoa exports, the Federal Government has clarified that its focus is on encouraging local value addition and expanding processing capacity, rather than imposing an outright export ban.

If successfully implemented, the initiative could strengthen Nigeria's manufacturing sector, increase foreign exchange earnings, improve farmers' incomes and position the country as a regional hub for cocoa processing.
