I'll never forget this night. Trump's entrance to the 2024 RNC was the moment I realized Trump was right about everything.
I turned 18 a month before the 2016 election, and voted for Trump, again in 2020. Those couple days after Butler, Trump's emotional entrance to the RNC proved the man had been a fighter all along. As a country, we never gave Trump the credit for how brave it was to arrive that night at the RNC and then to return to Butler just a few weeks later.
The part of the entrance that really gets me is the cut to Don Jr. with tears in his eyes. It's hard to humanize Donald Trump, even for his supporters. We typically hold him as a funny and crass man, but there's something easily overlooked about him. Trump is a father and grandfather. He had more to lose than just his life that day in Butler. He'd miss years with his children and grandchildren.
Just something to consider 2 years later as we weigh our votes in the midterms.
Never stop fighting, patriots!
