On July 9, 1979, NASA’s Voyager 2 made history with a daring close encounter at Jupiter. Skimming just 350,000 miles (570,000 km) above the swirling cloud tops of the giant planet, the intrepid spacecraft captured breathtaking views while using Jupiter’s powerful gravity like a cosmic slingshot.

This gravity assist dramatically accelerated Voyager 2 and flung it onward toward its next destination: Saturn.

What was once a slow journey across the solar system suddenly became a high-speed adventure, thanks to the immense pull of the gas giant.

At what point does a pattern this consistent stop being a description of the people being labeled and start being a description of the labeler?

Fanaticism means: belief so extreme it has disconnected from rational motivation.

But the rational motivation is always there.

It is always visible.

It is always documented.

It is: you are here, in my country, with guns. I want you to leave.

That is not fanaticism.

That is the most basic political logic in human history.

The word "fanaticism" is what power reaches for when it refuses to follow that logic to its obvious source.

Which is: the guns.

Which is: the presence.

Which is: the empire itself.

Not true at all. You’re looking at this from the outside as if you actually know what you’re talking about.

Orthopedic surgeons know the medicine they need to know in the context of their specialty. Anything outside that is a consult, which is exactly how every specialty works.

Internal medicine, family medicine, psychiatry, radiology, anesthesia, surgery, OB/GYN, derm, EM, ophtho, urology, plastics, pediatrics, all of them have their own knowledge base and consult when something falls outside their lane.

That’s not “little medical knowledge.” That’s specialization. This is how the entire medical system works and the entire point of having different specialties, we all train and become experts in our respective fields.
