AI is making 4 year degrees that were ALREADY IRRELEVANT, irrelevant. The only people who think AI will replace college degrees en masse are people who have either experienced higher-ed or never worked a job that required actual expertise.

Expertise requires HARD SKILLS: AI can only replicate SOFT SKILLS, and even then anyone with expertise can tell the difference. AI can write a Basket Weaving essay, but it cannot, functionally or legally, be your doctor or lawyer or fiduciary.

Additionally, it's AI replacing the work, not the human. Studies have regularly shown that AI actively makes nearly all of your cognitive processes weaker (aka makes you dumber). So yeah, you have a robot doing your administrative job, which is fine if you take zero pride or pleasure out of your own strengths and abilities. But in the meantime, you actively get stupider.

I don't think you realize how sad the life you are pitching is. No skills, no usefulness, no ambition, just paying an AI to do your job for you.

And not even a consideration of the fact that they have no need to pay a random person with no education to work the AI when they can just automate the process and eliminate jobs/save money. You will never be chosen over someone WITH A DEGREE that knows how to use AI, because they are definitionally more capable.

If your goal is to do nothing and make 50k a year at a mind-burningly boring data entry job while dulling your brain with a sizeable risk of becoming homeless due to economic redundancies, AI is a good bet for you.

Most people have higher goals.

"Anti-college" in the context of this post is "Let's cheer on the failure of a university that we know nothing about purely because we have a visceral distaste for higher education". That is not a rational position.

If you agree with that sentiment, your position isn't based in empiricism or data, it's based on emotion.

Higher education is the single greatest economic equalizer that has ever existed in society for non-Elites. This isn't an opinion, it is a fact with nearly a century of hard data to back up.

As follows, if you are anti-higher education, you are serving as the mechanism through which elitism, and the Elite Class, flourishes and keeps the lower classes down. So just keep that in mind next time you call yourself "anti-college".

Anti-college is pro-serfdom, plain and simple. There's room for reform, but you're just cheering on the failure of a college you don't even know the name of purely because it's a college. That's irrational.

Unlike your ilk, no liberal feels the need to defend Laura Loomer because no liberal supports, agrees, or identifies with her. She is a fascist ghoul and is only involved in this conversation because Mehdi is throwing anything at the wall to deflect from the fact that he, among other things:

-Downplayed the Charlie Hebdo massacre
-Called gay people "sexual deviants"
-Called atheists "cattle"
-Published a (plagiarzied) article openly defending child abuse in parenting
-Openly argued against a woman's right to choose what to do with her body.

All at the ripe age of 35, long after any "developing brain" excuse holds any water. And then you fell for it.

The fact that you feel the need to rabidly defend someone who, after all of that, implicitly induces harrassment campaigns against the parents of school shooting victims tells me you agree with all of the positions stated above. So.... Yikes.

He has not done a single meaningful thing to actually advance any of the policy points listed above besides the Epstein Transparency Act, which was quite literally the easiest piece of legislation to pass in the last 50 years because voting against it meant you were supporting Jeffrey Epstein.

He is betting that you are dumb enough to think he cares about you OR America because he managed to 'write' his name on a single piece of legislation that was universally supported and guaranteed to pass. I put write in quotes because i'm not even convinced Massie is literate.

He is a Russian asset; a conservative mirror of Jill Stein. And his 'career' is a joke. Just look at his ideological cabal, filled with the dumbest rejects in the history of modern politics.

Andrew Yang's once-laughed at UBI proposition is slowly going to become the route to future economic prosperity.

AI is coming whether we like it or not. If our goal is the highest possible Felicity Calculus (see Bentham) then this is quite literally a no-brainer.

We need to outlaw AI-based economic redundancies that don't go hand in hand with a payout to some equivalent of a distributive welfare fund. If Starbucks is going to replace their baristas with kiosks, 50% of their saved cost basis on each employee should go DIRECTLY to American citizens.

When do we get the plan though, Andrew? The longer that establishment gatekeepers like yourself keep making populist tweets instead of working to enact actual policy, the less of a chance we have to keep the Corporatist genie in the bottle.
