Experienced all the highs and lows in Chakwal PTI camp on election day but the most bizarre thing was when around 8 pm I learnt that Ayaz Amir was physically thrown out of the RO's office. According to rules candidates have right to witness this process to ensure transparency.

#Pakistan: CPJ condemns the harassment of @lok_sujag reporter Fatima Razzaq (@FatimaRazzaq20) on December 24 following her days-long coverage of the Baloch women protest in Islamabad.

Five plainclothes men, two of whom were armed with guns, reportedly held Razzaq while she was waiting to board a bus in Rawalpindi. The perpetrators questioned Razzaq about her activities at the protest, demanded the journalist hand over her camera, which she refused to do, and searched and slightly damaged her mobile phone before releasing her after 40 minutes.

CPJ calls on authorities to ensure that journalists may cover the unprecedented protests without fear of reprisal or intimidation.
