Enforcement Directorate/ LATE NIGHT REMAND / FORMER RELIANCE GROUP MANAGING DIRECTOR / VICE CHAIRMAN SATEESH SETH REMANDED TO CUSTODY OF ED.
Mr. Sateesh Seth is arrested by the ED in its’ ongoing investigation pertaining to the alleged financial fraud emanating from road construction projects awarded to Reliance Infrastructure Limited (RIL) by the NHAI.
He was arrested by the ED on 12.06.2026 in Mumbai and produced before the Ld. Vacation Judge in New Delhi at 8:00PM on 13.06.2026.
ED sought the custody of Mr. Seth for a period of 13 days to ascertain full quantum of POC, trace end utilisation and uncover the complete role and extent of co-conspirators.
On the other hand, the request for remand was vehemently opposed on the ground that the arrest was illegal on account of flagrant violations of the statutory safeguards under Section 19(1) & (2) of the PMLA. It was argued that there was no need or necessity of arrest of Mr. Sateesh Seth who had duly complied with all the summons. Further, it was also submitted that Mr. Sateesh Seth suffered a brain haemorrhage pursuant to appearing before the ED in May 2026, thus, his health condition is extremely precarious and requires constant supervision and attention.
After considering the submissions, the Ld. Vacation Judge remanded Mr. Sateesh Seth to the custody of the ED at 1:30AM on 14.06.2026 for a period of 6 days; and directed the ED to carry out medical examinations of Mr. Seth every 6 hours in view of his serious health condition.

“It has become a crime in India to seek accountability. The message being sent out by PM and Amit Shah is that if you seek answers, we will throw you in jail”, Aadil Singh Boparai, Spokesperson, Congress on arrests over posters critical of PM Modi
"Why is Mr Modi being so arrogant about this? Farmers interest is synonymous to national interest,” says Aadil Singh Boparai, Spokesperson, Congress on Supreme Court's order to stay farm laws and form committee to hold talks
The ongoing farmers protest is a fight for survival against the ruling regime's miscalculation of interests. Have tried explaining the idea in the article 'Decoding the rationale of the farm agitation'. Thank you Sh.@AadilBoparai for co-authoring this one with me- best wishes!

However having said that, there is a need to stop reverse migration for a better future of both the industries and migrants. Not by Coercion! There is a need to create a sense of safety, security and belonging. Industries should ensure food, shelter and proper working condition
Where were these industrialists - when the migrants didn’t have food to eat, a roof over their head, no access to essential commodities? Oh I forgot, they were busy hoarding stuff. https://t.co/up4DQTZ4SH
