If you can not speak against Caste & Casteism, you have no right to speak against Reservation.
I am a Brahmin myself, born & brought up in a village of Mathura, UP.
I have seen caste & casteism in its raw form, where untouchability is practiced, where Dalits can’t enter our homes.
So, don’t you dare tell me that casteism has ended.
Reservation is not going anywhere for next 100 years and more.
Upper castes won’t stop discrimination, Varna stays, so does reservation. Cope.
Exactly. These are the top voices in the BJP online ecosystem. They and their sockpuppets start & end with profanity.
So for them to suddenly clutch pearls at that very language being used by young protestors for Modi is beyond hypocritical. But hypocrisy is core of Hindutva.
Back in 1998, the great playwright Girish Karnad wrote a brilliant essay on the arts and social change in India. Sadly, it was published in Holland so little read here. It is wonderful to see the essay now available online for desis and non-desis both:

The new govt line:”We don’t mind if students protest but why should they use bad language?”
Not one prosecution of the men who shot protestors in the face with pellet guns. No action against the cops who dishonored & slapped young women. Not one word about the plain clothes cops/goondas and their sticks & clubs.
If the govt & its stooges go on this way then the movement will arise again.
This is supposed to be a people’s democracy not a dictatorship of thugs .
"Cuss words are no longer the underground culture they were a decade ago."
BJP IT Cell has been a HUGE factor in this. Their influencers & sockpuppets made incest & genitalia based abuse normal on Indian Twitter where it was generally avoided.
Calling Zubair LKFC for example.
"Many Indians accept the need for a heavy hand to deal with “undesirable elements” and “troublemakers”. But they are not used to seeing their own sons and daughters—Hindu, middle-class, educated—treated the same way"
Abhinav Bisht, whose Instagram videos garnered millions of views during the Jantar Mantar protest, says that his account (isaac1rl) has been suspended. He has created another account.
Freedom is just another word for nothin’ left to lose
Why Gen Z was protesting and millennials weren't.
My free to read Paisanomics column in the Mumbai Mirror.
The answer is economic. Gen X and many millennials came of age when education led to good jobs, rising incomes and appreciating assets.
Gen Z has inherited a different India: fewer formal jobs, AI replacing entry-level work, stagnant opportunities and tiny loans just to get by.
Data from the National Council for Applied Economic Research (NCAER) shows that between 2017-18 and 2023-24, 10-12 million young people entered the labour force every year.
But the economy fell short by around 5 million jobs annually, with only one in four new entrants finding formal employment.
Millennials, meanwhile, are buried under EMIs and responsibilities, leaving little room for dissent.
Millenials can't even dissent against toxic bosses, so, where's the question of dissenting against the government.
Politics may have lit the spark. But economics has supplied the fuel.

History is ultimately written by Winners
As harsh as It may be,It still is the reality
You need victory before you can afford to look back and tell the history of what you went through
Anyone who doesn't understand this risks looking back so much that they will stay powerless
Amol Palekar’s searing, heartfelt letter to students remains The Wire’s most read article…
“History has taught this lesson repeatedly. From Tsarist Russia to the student revolt of Paris in 1968, from the youth-led struggle against apartheid in South Africa, Tiananmen Square, to the Navnirman Andolan of 1974 in Gujarat attempts to suppress young voices have never extinguished the desire for freedom. Authority may command obedience for a while; it cannot indefinitely command the conscience of a generation.
“The images of the brutality inflicted upon you have filled us with anguish and anger. A society learns to question itself in its universities. To question those who hold power over your future is not a privilege you seek; it is a democratic responsibility you fulfil. When questions are answered with batons instead of reason, it is not the students who stand diminished. It is the State.”
Prime Minister should not be abused.
Who told you?
- BJP IT CELL
What did BJP IT Cell do before 2014?
- Abuse Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi in ways unimaginable today, they literally made cartoons that even porn sites would hesitate to host about them.
Today they are crying that Modi is being abused.
