WHOOP! The Storm and the Minotaur is on the "Short and Sweet" shortlist for the Dudley Children's Book Award. I'm over the moooon!! And they've got separate categories for children's and YA books - what a brilliant way to organise a book award πππ Thank you @theDCBA
You may have noticed coloured bins around school: these are for you to return your books without having to visit the library. Please return your books ASAP π
Ive wanted a good book about time travel and @jenrosebell has given me a story I could sink my teeth in to. Wonderscape is brill- so twisty. I couldnβt guess where it was going next! The best bits of Ready Player One and Jumanji all together- a classy read ππΌtravel with wonder!
I think this is the first fiction book Iβve read set in the Stone Age and it has blown my expectations out of the water. Full of adventure and a truly heartfelt story... kudos @KirtleySophie you may have made me shed a tear or three... ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»
Thank you all so much for your support of last week's Hobbitathon. In an effort to continue our fundraising for our frontline workers, we are releasing Chapter 5, "Riddles in the Dark," online for a limited period. A big thank you to @HarperCollins and the Tolkien Estate!
People of Summerhill! I will be reading a chapter of a book every day and recording it as part of a virtual book group. If you would like to become part of this, send me a message with your school email attached so I can send you the recordings! πππ
Wherever you look at the moment you see the same news, the same rumours, the same panic. It isn't healthy to keep seeing so much negativity. Obviously I would recommend reading, but now more than ever, you need to escape from social media and get into a book.
Stay safe.
Happy #WorldBookDay ππππ remember reading happens every day, not just today. Find your next favourite book by speaking to @MrD_Morgan ππΌ#readeveryday
As we move onto a new library system today, please can you return any books you are not reading back to the library ASAP, as we will be stock taking over next week. Thanks.
