Robert MacAskill on a fav scene from #Summit72: “At the end of Ep.2 as Team Canada departs for Europe in disgrace. We cut to Triumph’s “Fight the Good Fight”—I found the result poignant, emotional and sympathetic to the great NHL stars en route to defend Canadian hockey honour.
AaronEkblad played w/ Jagr, who played w/ Trottier, who played w/ J.P. Parisé. Alec Martinez played w/ Sean O'Donnell who played w/ Pat Conacher who played with Phil Esposito. Who do you like in The @StanleyCup Final? @hockeyesque @nickdepencier @BaichwalABC7@TeamCanada1972
Congrats to Team Canada on winning the 2023 IIHF Men’s World Championship. Had a few bumps in the road early on, but kept getting stronger and won when it counted—a storyline we’re familiar with! 🥇 🇨🇦

Director @BaichwalABC7 on his favourite #Summit72 moment: My favorite moment is, of course, The Goal in episode four. The lead up to it, the suspense building both in the natural history as well as the cinematography — and then the payoff of emotion unleashed in its aftermath.
Originally thought to be 30 tins of film in the HHOF, our team had access to 100 tins of Al Stewart's 1972 16mm time capsule. We lovingly transferred the precious footage to breathtaking 4K, much of it unseen until now. Watch #Summit72 on @cbcgem or DVD/Blu-ray from @UnViewInc
Our Summit 72 crew looking sharp at last night’s @TheCdnAcademy News, Documentary & Factual Awards. Congrats to fellow nominees and to Underground Railroad for winning Best Historical Doc. Extra shoutout to our own @nickdepencier on best cinematography for, The Colour of Ink!
Director @nickdepencier's favourite scene: "It's everything you could want to tunnel into the past: newsreel voice-of-god narration, grown men looking ridiculous in their underwear, an expert expounding on fitness while smoke from his offscreen cigarette wafts through the frame."
