Manโs best friend, of course! ๐ถ To kick off summer with companionship and fun, we are announcing the โFetch Your Summer Sidekickโ adoption event.
Now through June 30, adoption fees will be reduced to $28 (regularly $94). ๐ซ Residents can call 330-643-2845 to schedule an appointment or visit the facility during business hours.
My Asst Chief of Staff Greta Johnson & Director of Sanitary Sewer Services Mike Vinay were pleased to accept a $1.09 million ceremonial check from Rep. Emilia Sykes, with Peninsula Mayor Daniel Schneider, for the Peninsula Sanitary Sewer Collection & Treatment Facilities Project.
This project, which includes the construction of a wastewater treatment plant, will bring sanitary sewer service to the Village, protecting the Cuyahoga River and Cuyahoga Valley National Park's nearly 3 million annual visitors from harmful discharges.
๐ Don't forget to include your passport on your summer packing list!
Need help renewing or applying for one? Staff from Rep. Emilia Strong Sykes office and the Summit County Clerk of Courts will be at 1030 E. Tallmadge Ave. tomorrow morning to assist with the process.
We know you are familiar with these furry faces, but have you ever wondered who keeps their tails wagging?๐ค
๐It's our amazing staff and volunteers at Summit County Animal Control! They are just as loveable and keep our four-legged companions in the best care.
While they are not up for adoption, nothing makes them happier than when one of their friends finds a fur-ever home. And with the shelter at FULL capacity, they sure could use your help.โผ๏ธ

With June starting next week, we want to share an updated timeline of changes to the SNAP program due to the One Big Beautiful Bill.
Many SNAP participants who were previously exempt from work requirements have been required to work 20 hours/week and report documentation.
If newly affected SNAP participants have failed to comply with this for the past 3 months, they will not be eligible for and will not receive benefits in June:
โข until documenting they have worked 80 hours/month.
OR
โข until March 2029.
