*Robots, Drones, and Electric Vehicles Shaping a New Era at Summit University, Offa*

Since our recent announcement on the introduction of programmable robots and modern computer systems @SummitUniOffa, we have received an overwhelming number of messages, questions, and expressions of interest from students, parents, and educators across Nigeria.

We sincerely appreciate this interest. It reflects a shared belief that education in Nigeria can and should be different.

*Many have asked what this truly means for students.*

It means more than access to technology. It means access to opportunity. At Summit University, learning goes beyond the classroom. Students are exposed to real industry environments and practical experiences that prepare them for the future.

Through our collaboration with MOMAS Nig. Limited and EPAIL, both students and academic staff benefit from direct industry immersion. In 2023, four members of staff participated in a two month Industry Immersion Programme for Lecturers (IIP4L). In 2024, a lecturer was sponsored for advanced drone training in India. Industry experts from MOMAS have also contributed directly to academic engagement through immersion programmes in 2023 and 2024.

For students, the impact is equally significant. In 2025, ten students participated in an electric vehicle Industry Immersion Programme for Students (IIP4S), gaining hands on exposure to technologies shaping the modern world. All these were made possible through the support of Engr. (Dr.) Kola Balogun, Chairman, MOMAS Group.

Beyond training and exposure, this partnership has supported major infrastructural development, including facilities and buildings valued at over 350 million naira. These investments are creating a learning environment where innovation is practical, visible, and accessible.

The answer is yes.

The upcoming Summer School at Summit University, Offa, Kwara State will welcome both our students and those from other schools and universities across Nigeria. Participants will interact directly with robots and computer systems, gaining early exposure to emerging technologies and future ready skills.

It is worth noting that in 2022 and 2023, the University hosted Drone Piloting Summer Schools. Many participants from those programmes are now applying these skills professionally, with some already earning from them and building careers in that field.

At the core of all these efforts is a clear direction. Summit University is focused on emerging technologies as a driver of education and national development. This vision is reflected in the introduction of eight new departments aligned with fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, automation, and digital engineering.

This direction was further emphasized in a recent lecture I delivered, organised by The Companion, Abuja Branch, titled *Impact of AI Revolution on Individuals and National Development in Nigeria*. In the lecture, I highlighted how artificial intelligence is reshaping industries, economies, and opportunities, and why institutions like Summit University must lead in preparing individuals to thrive in this new reality. I also provided practical insights on democratizing access to these skills.

We are not just training students. We are developing innovators, thinkers, and leaders who will shape the future of this nation.
