To date, research examining sleep in the context of the PTSD-CVD link has been largely unexamined, so this paper outlines recommendations for future research. Findings from these studies may eventually be incorporated into clinical practice.
Very excited to highlight a new review paper led by our PhD student @c_meinhausen with @AricPrather and Dr. Sumner on the role of sleep in the link between PTSD and cardiovascular disease (CVD) in Health Psychology. https://t.co/Fq3tYJObU3
Sleep disturbances have also been linked to CVD risk. Specifically, hypertension and inflammatory processes in the body are highly sensitive to sleep disturbances and can contribute to the development of CVD.
So excited to have been able to submit my very first poster at the @ISTSSnews#ISTSS2021 meeting! Our project examined associations between #PTSD and #coping using a "symptomics" approach
