Notice that in both of these ads the primary focus is not on actually playing the game, competing in the sport, or performing athletic feats. Like just about everything marketed towards women, it's about social reaction, it's about how others view you.

This ad used the slogan "You Can't Win. So Win"; fifty seconds of statements supposedly said by people denigrating women's athletic abilities, with the idea that you gotta just say "fuck 'em" to those who doubt you.

I think it says something about the nature of our society and the nature of women and girls that the best way to advertise a flag football league is to show guys as losers, rather than show how fun or exciting the activity in itself could be.

@augureust First time I read Camus at 20 or so it felt like it spoke to me directly, I related heavily. I read the stranger at 30 and couldn’t relate at all, I couldn’t understand the motivation of the character and just hated him.
