Pt 2: Trash to Treasure
My message was titled Peaks and Valleys and how God is with you through it all. When I was done, I told my wife, who was recording, to burn the tape. I stuttered through the message. I was so nervous my brain turn the lights off, and I forgot the message.
Pt 1: Trash to Treasure Story
On December 19, 2013, I had the opportunity to speak to the FCA high school multisport huddle, where I coached football and track. I was a volunteer coach from the corporate world with the desire to be a Christian motivational speaker.
How Great is God?
He parted the Red Sea.
He stopped the flow of water in the Jordan River during high tide.
He is the Biological Father of Jesus
He rose Jesus from the Dead on the 3rd Day.
He is everywhere at all times. He is never nowhere.
There is much more but chew on those.
As I reflect on my 15 years in the working world, I realize that the most crucial aspect is building relationships with others, both vertically and horizontally. However, it is even more critical to cultivate connections outside of your natural environment.

Money and time are both valuable resources, the difference: time is irreplaceable. While we can always earn more money, we cannot earn time. We have the power to choose how we spend our money and time. So, how will you spend your limited resource?
Myth Buster: Habits
Have you heard the saying habits take 21 days to develop?
Studies show that habits actually take between 2 months - 8 months to develop.
Consistency - Discipline - Persistence
As an experience preacher, speaker, coach, and friend, I've learned that during any speech or conversation, the listener tends to daydream about 30% of the time. But don't blame yourself entirely - listening is a challenging task that requires effort on the part of the listener.

Wisdom from sports that I use in my profession.
Action with no Vision is an aimless pursuit.
Vision with no Action is a worthless dream.
When I combined Vision & Action nothing could stop me.
3-Tips on defeating the deadliest day.
1. Get around those that love you for who you are.
2. Write yourself a positive, uplifting, encouraging letter to open Wednesday morning.
3. Reminisce over joyous memories.
What is the worst day of the week?
WEDNESDAY!!!
Studies show that the highest rate of sucides happen on Wednesday.
When I was transitioning from Current Athlete to Former Athlete Wednesday's sucked.
I found that my purpose had nothing to do with how I make money.
My purpose had everything to do with why God created me.
I found my purpose when I stop looking within and refocused on God.
Why I stopped complaining!
- Stalls problem-solving
- Makes things worse
- Repel the right people
- Attracts the wrong people
- Sucks the joy out of me
My Perfect Morning Routine:

Transitioning from a current athlete to a former athlete is a journey of many ups and downs, but understanding the stages will allow you to reach the light at the end of the tunnel.
