Not too hot on the pacing nor the abrupt ending, but otherwise pretty good stuff. The cinematography, color grading, and editing were great. Pattinson is by far the best part of the film and is probably my favorite working actor.

I'm not excpecting us to get Denis Villeneuve, George Miller, Ridley Scott or Nolan, but c'mon Jon Watts & Shawn Levy?
There's a very important distinction between both ways "All art is political" can be interpreted.
Because "All art is shaped or influenced by politics" is not the same as "All art has political intent".
I’m seeing way too much Breaking Bad slander on the TL today. BB certainly doesn’t have the thematic depth of Mad Men, but it almost perfectly executes on its premise as a genre melding thriller that gets better with each season. It‘s not trying to be Mad Men!
Modern comics mainly prioritise action and are pretty much pitches for potential TV series or movies. Older comics on the other hand, focused on the main character, their supporting cast, personal lives and had soap opera drama which became a lost art in modern comics.
@Deathcheat6 I don’t believe superhero comics as a cultural institution are devalued by virtue of being in a state of constant renewal, true there’s often a lack of consequence, but you can still appreciate each run by itself. For better or worse that’s the nature of serialized storytelling.
