Based out of Mohkinstsis in Treaty 7 Territory, the Sunday Brunch Club is a collective of individuals who volunteer their time to monitor police interactions, collect data on police conduct, and provide alternatives to police intervention.

"The Calgary Police Service spent nearly double its overtime and call-out budget last year, amounting to a little more than $22-million — significantly more than the $11.4 million set aside."

‼️CALL TO ACTION‼️
Join us this Friday (Jan 5th) and Sunday (Jan 7th) outside the Calgary Remand Centre, solidarity with @TaylorMcNallie as she heads in to begin her sentence and when she is released. Her last weekend served is in March and we plan to be there every weekend.
FINANCIAL AID UPDATE!!! Taylor is in urgent need of financial support after being quoted over $20,000 for the process of appealing the conviction for which she has been sentenced to 11 weekends in prison. This amount would include a “conviction appeal” and a “sentencing appeal”.
"In 2020, while facing 2 disciplinary hearings connected to the on-duty assaults on the 2 handcuffed men, Lindsay quit CPS, which meant he didn't have to go through the internal process."
Another cop uses the quit escape hatch.

Both Taylor and Jack have suffered mental distress following the incident, Taylor being diagnosed with PTSD. There must be consequences for Cunningham's actions, which were found to be "not lawful" by Justice Barley.

"Officers forced their way through the front door of their townhouse, thinking they were responding to an ongoing assault with a weapon. They had the wrong door. That door was destroyed and at first the family were told they would be out of pocket for the roughly $2,700 repair."
Check out our new Q&A with @TaylorMcNallie and Adora Nwofor on how they are being systematically targeted by the Calgary Police Service through "charge stacking" designed to repress their incredible organizing.

We have waited to see this video from the Alex Dunn protests for 2 years. Today, it was played in court and released this evening by @KMartinCourts, who has given the public a very skewed take on the facts and how the situation played out in court...
#YYC Calgary Police harass and arrest an unhoused community member on Sunday, December 10th, while questioning their winter scarf (not a keffiyeh) and if they're involved in any of the protests for Palestine.
"A total of 50 members of the Calgary Police Service and 38 members of the Edmonton Police Service chose to leave their jobs before internal disciplinary processes involving allegations against them were complete."

Despite Justice Peter Barley saying, “I accept that she <Taylor McNallie> did not set out to hit the other woman <Elena Cunningham>,” which means he understands that the “assault” done by Taylor was not intentional, Taylor has still been found guilty.
Yesterday, Taylor McNallie received her sentencing for the 3 remaining charges laid against her during her protesting of Alex Dunn in 2021. Taylor has been sentenced to 30 days in prison, to be served on weekends, along with paying $2,800 in restitution and 2 years of probation.
One of the methods the state can use to stifle change is to bog down organizers with legal issues. I’ve met Taylor. She isn’t some machette-wielding vigilante. She speaks out against inequalities and injustices that The System relies on. In that way she is dangerous to the state.
