Pi Launchpad has updated its participation flow and model, incorporating data and feedback from the first Testnet token that launched on Pi Day 2026!

The first Launchpad test token attracted over 478,000 participating Pioneers and generated valuable feedback on the Launchpad mechanism. That feedback has now been incorporated into a simpler participation flow, updated Launchpad mechanics, and an improved user experience.

A second test token “SLICE” is now live on Testnet to help evaluate if the updates can achieve these goals, and to give Pioneers another chance to learn the new ecosystem token mechanics. As a reminder, SLICE is a Testnet token and will never go onto Mainnet.

To participate:
• Open Pi Launchpad in Pi Browser
• Review the SLICE test token and project
• Choose a commitment amount in Test-Pi
• Confirm participation
• Engage with the Slice of Pi app and provide feedback

Participation will remain open until Pi2Day on June 28.

PCN Declares War on Open Drug Markets, Seeks Senate Backing

The Registrar of the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) @PCN_Registry, Pharmacist Ibrahim Baba-Shehu Ahmed, has declared an intensified crackdown on open drug markets across the country, describing the proliferation of unregistered pharmaceutical outlets as a major threat to public health.

Ahmed made this known on Wednesday while defending the 2025 budget performance and presenting the 2026 budget proposal before the Senate Committee on Health.

According to him, the council has stepped up enforcement activities nationwide, stressing that PCN remains an “endangered institution” due to the unchecked spread of illegal drug distribution channels.

“We do a lot of enforcement activities because you will agree with me that we are an endangered institution by the virtual proliferation of unregistered facilities,” Ahmed said. “With the new law we have, we are good to go.”

He identified the existence of open drug markets as one of the gravest challenges confronting drug regulation in Nigeria, noting that the council has already recorded significant successes in its ongoing operations.

Ahmed disclosed that PCN recently shut down the open drug market in Kano, where 1,321 shops were sealed during an enforcement exercise.

“Nothing can be worse than that,” he added.

The registrar further revealed that the council is currently working towards the closure of other notorious drug markets, including Idumota Market in Lagos, Onitsha Head Bridge Market in Anambra State, and drug markets in Aba, Abia State.

He, however, stressed that the operations require substantial funding, particularly for security and logistics, explaining that some enforcement exercises are conducted late at night to ensure the safety of officials.

“Some of these operations start at 12 midnight. Coming out safely is also a big challenge,” Ahmed told the lawmakers.

While outlining PCN’s financial needs, he referred the committee to documents detailing the council’s 2025 project performance, budget templates, constituency projects, and overhead expenditures, urging the Senate to provide adequate support to enable the agency to effectively carry out its mandate.
