NHAI regrets the inconvenience caused to NH commuters due to the road surface cave-in at a location on the Delhi–Dehradun Economic Corridor following rainfall. The section has been restored and opened for regular traffic movement.

The incident occurred due to localized water stagnation, as the permanent cross-drainage system at the location could not be commissioned due to sustained resistance from local residents, who did not permit integration of the balancing culvert and instead used the culvert opening as a vehicular crossing. This prevented the intended drainage arrangement from becoming operational.

Following yesterday's incident, NHAI immediately undertook restoration works and has commenced construction of an interim parallel drain to ensure safe disposal of rainwater until the permanent drainage system can be commissioned. The affected location is under continuous monitoring to ensure safe and uninterrupted traffic movement.

Taking serious cognizance of the incident, Show Cause Notices have been issued to the concerned Project Director, Authority Engineer and EPC Contractor, while the Team Leader of the Authority Engineer and the Project Manager of the contractor have been suspended.

NHAI remains committed to taking all necessary measures to ensure resilient and reliable National Highway infrastructure.

Kanpur Police and Bajrang Dal rescued two Hindu women held hostage for years by Mohammad Irshad.

Irshad posing as "Vishal Kumar", a medical student and businessman, married Anukriti Pandey in a temple.

After she gave birth, he revealed he was Muslim, threw out Hindu god murtis, circumcised the child, beat her, forced her to eat cow meat and offer namaz.

He later married a second Hindu woman in a temple who is now three months pregnant, and kept both women locked in a room, threatening to kill them if they sought help.

The first wife contacted Bajrang Dal. Both women and the child were rescued and Irshad was arrested.

लेकिन क्या आप जानते हैं जिस AC की ठंडी हवा के बिना हम रह नहीं पाते, उसका आविष्कार लोगों को ठंडक देने के लिए हुआ ही नहीं था ? 🤯

साल 1902 में अमेरिकी इंजीनियर ने दुनिया का पहला आधुनिक एयर कंडीशनिंग सिस्टम बनाया।
लेकिन ये किसी घर, होटल या ऑफिस के लिए नहीं था बल्कि एक प्रिंटिंग प्रेस के लिए तैयार किया गया था।

समस्या क्या थी ?
प्रेस में हवा की नमी (Humidity) इतनी ज्यादा हो जाती थी कि कागज़ फूल जाता था, स्याही सही नहीं बैठती थी और पूरी छपाई खराब हो जाती थी।

तब Carrier ने ऐसी मशीन बनाई जो हवा की नमी और तापमान दोनों को कंट्रोल कर सके।
जैसे ही ये सिस्टम लगा, प्रिंटिंग की क्वालिटी में जबरदस्त सुधार आ गया।

और फिर एक दिलचस्प मोड़ आया लोगों ने महसूस किया कि ये मशीन सिर्फ नमी ही नहीं, बल्कि कमरे को ठंडा भी कर देती है!

बस यहीं से AC का सफर शुरू हुआ फैक्ट्रियों से निकलकर सिनेमाघरों, ऑफिस, घरों और आज हर गली-मोहल्ले तक पहुँच गया।

यानी जिस मशीन को आज हम गर्मी से राहत के लिए इस्तेमाल करते हैं उसकी शुरुआत एक खराब प्रिंटिंग की समस्या से हुई थी।

सच में, दुनिया बदलने वाले आविष्कार अक्सर किसी छोटी-सी समस्या से ही जन्म लेते हैं।

तो अगली बार जब आप AC की ठंडी हवा में सुकून लें…तो याद रखिए, ये कहानी आराम से नहीं जरूरत से शुरू हुई थी।
