REMINDER: The latest article recalls David Sylvian's 'Slow Fire' shows in 1995, and particularly songs that were performed backed with acoustic guitar. Such an intimate show to witness - 'You couldn't get much more unplugged,' said Sylvian. Read here: https://t.co/pbFvWpYOob
REMINDER: Ryuichi Sakamoto & David Sylvian enjoyed a musical partnership over the decades. The latest article looks at Ryuichi's 2017 album 'async' on which Sylvian appears for the track 'Life, Life'. A wonderful release that still grows on me. Read here: https://t.co/Jw5XugLK1S
My death waits like a witch at night
As surely as our love is bright
Let's not think about the passing time
But what ever lies behind the door
There is nothing much to do
Angel or devil, I don't care
For in front of that door, there is you ⚡️✨ #MyDeath
"What if everyone who loves Ryuichi Sakamoto planted a tree in his honor, to show him our love and gratitude."
- Yuka C. Honda
Following Ryuichi’s passing and in response to Yuka’s message above, Ryuichi’s family and estate launched “TREES FOR SAKAMOTO”. @trees4skmt
Since the initiative’s launch, many people and organizations have donated, with the total donations exceeding $26,000.
We thank everyone for the continuous support to plant more trees!
Ryuichi Sakamoto left us with the gift of music.
Let’s give him a gift back by planting trees all over the world, as he would have wanted.
. . .
Humanity has coexisted with forests.
Where forests have collapsed,
civilizations have perished.
Now, forests are collapsing all over the world.
Is this not a warning of the demise of human civilization?
Let’s at least plant trees.
- Ryuichi Sakamoto
