High body count is the new "in" trend.

Personally, I believe someone’s private life is their own business. So do what you want, even break records in body count if that’s your choice.

But the issue starts when it’s projected as a flex. That influences unsuspecting people, especially teens, and makes them think it’s the standard way of life. Before young people start chasing it blindly, they should also know that high body count carries real health and psychological risks:

(a) Higher chance of STIs like HIV, herpes, syphilis, warts. Even condoms don’t eliminate risk totally.

(b) More partners raise risk of HPV-related cancers including cervical, penile, anal and throat cancers.

(c) In women, repeated infections can lead to infertility, ectopic pregnancy and chronic pelvic pain.

(d) Greater chances of unintended pregnancy, and physical strain from frequent emergency contraception, abortions or untreated infections.

(e) Difficulty forming long-term attachments due to repeated cycles of attachment and detachment leading to less stable relationships and higher divorce risk.

(f) Comparison anxiety and lower sexual satisfaction in future relationships.

(g) Guilt or regret later if personal values change in future, which usually do.

(h) Risk-taking becomes normalized, like unsafe sex or substance use.

(i) Studies have shown links between higher body count and more depression or anxiety.

Bottom line: what you do is your choice, but choices should be made with full awareness of consequences.
