@meanorus We've doubled checked and actually, when you run the switch 1 version on the switch 2 it automatically plays the switch 2 version. You don't need to upgrade!
You can verify this by using the mouse controller function, which do not exist on switch 1!

2. You should start a new game. The game will pick-up your demo save file and show a "Continue" button, but you must start a new game, since saves are incompatible and the game will get stuck at some point if you continue with your old save.

If you have played the demo of The Witch's Bakery, be sure to do these two things:

1. Make sure that you are playing on the correct branch. Right-click on your game your library, then go to "properties" and "Game Versions & Betas". You should be on the Default Public Version!
