@jessiejensen Are you standing on the floor? You’ll likely freeze when you first arrive and be boiling by the time the crowd fills in. Jeans or shorts, tank, and light long sleeve layer you can tie around your waist. Comfy shoes for sure. Fanny pack or small crossbody bag.
@jessiejensen It’s funny to me that in considering leaving the LDS church I deeply debated which choice would harm my kids more, staying or going. Now I look back and only wish we’d left sooner.
Spouse just said out of the blue today, “I love not being Mormon. I’m so happy.” Truth.
Ever let yourself get so overwhelmed with a task you procrastinate it for weeks and then right before the deadline you do it and realize it was totally manageable and now you’re sure you’ll never have to learn this lesson again but really that’s a lie?
Humans are weirdos.
@_Kristine_A My anecdotal experience is that it isn’t more prevalent among ex-Mos than never-Mos. I think it is prevalent among people who have found reason to question compulsory and normative ways of existing, and that includes a subset of ex-Mos, including queer identified folks.
@jessiejensen I was 13 and it paralyzed me for 30 years. I attempted but did not complete college because I was so terrified of getting it wrong.
The patriarch told me afterward he’d never given or heard of a blessing for a young woman that focused on a career. So much pressure. 🤢🙄
@jessiejensen My blessing talks extensively about education, career, the roles I would take on, and making lots of money. Then there’s a line saying, “When you know the field in which you are to work…” and I always read it as meaning there was one right answer and I had to figure it out. 1/
@ryandavidovich @stephijulia Yes! This is one of my favorite mules and just as delicious without the vodka. Fresh lime juice makes all the difference. Add a little simple syrup if you need to tone it down.
