I definitely learned how to make effective annotations. Although these annotations were guided, some key aspects such as identifying the protagonist, key characters, and the so what can definitely be implemented into further readings.

Learning how to write a Scicomm article was really beneficial because I now know how to reach a larger, public audience with more specified and complex research. I also understand how this research can be turned into something engaging for the average person.

I learned about the impact of overbreeding. Not only are health issues an implication, but so is shelter space and the stress and anxiety these dogs experience in these shelters. Veterinarians and breeders need to communicate more.

I learned about how dogs do have preferences and stronger skills sets in gestural commands vs verbal commands. Canines don't only have these preferences, but each dog/breed has their own particular preferences as well.

@RUlchak I completely agree! I had never created my own website before, and I didn't realize how easy it was to start one up. Of course the structuring is much harder, but being able to advocate for anything you want is empowering.

I encourage you to also use your platform as a way to limit the affects of overbreeding. You don't even have to post, but you can retweet organizations' posts such as the Dogs Trust and get them mroe publicity. They will be able to increase their funding for research.

Involving stakeholders and organizations in the overbreeding issue is key. They need to communicate how they are being affected and also work together to create resources such as pamphlets, to get the general public involved.

We need you guys as a community to lessen the imapct of overbreeding! Filling out surveys about something such as if you are thinking about giving up your dog or offering your thoughts on microchipping before purchase are so beneficial. Get involved!

Adopt Don't Shop!! Overbreeding dogs is an ethical issue. Dogs being in shelters too long can of course lead to some being euthanized, but others that are simply in the shelter too long can become anxious or stressed.
