The 'technologically enhanced' big belly bins were chosen by Kingston councillors in 2017 at a cost of just over £300,000 for five years (see below). Key selling point was "the prevention of overflowing bins" 🤨. So they've only been replaced 'cos that five year contract's ended.

@Thekingstonecho Just a huge joke, waste of money! The council don’t care about recycling they just “energy from waste” the whole lot!
Shameful as residents we are told, encouraged to recycle, yet the council buildings and employers don’t have the correct collection bins!
