@SavvasLearning Do you have an app that parents can use that shows the visual learning video for the lesson to help with homework? Elementary and middle school math.
@JayWamsted Haiti was feared all over the world at the time, because of the ferocity with which it's enslaved Africans fought. Haitian enslaved were not readily traded/sold outside of Haiti because of their warrior/freedom stances. They were know to be "trouble".
@OGDigAgency@Lisa05938189 Moral support from friends helped tons. Then-hubby gave me Sundays off for hairdresser, nails, sleep. I honestly lived on naps too. Sleep 2 hrs, study for 2, sleep for 3, lesson planning for 1 lol. Paper plates, half-cook meats 1x a week and freeze. That kind of stuff.
@TeacherArthurG@UFT@NYCMayor Article is accurate. I played with DESSA today. Results reflect what I already knew. Many questions don't apply. There have been 5 tests (3 students) on my class since September. 5! Only 20 students in entire school are tested weekly. In and out within an hour. It's a sham(e)!
@findhumor8 @TeacherArthurG I was allowed to test when I taught summer school. This year, teachers have not been allowed, supposedly because we're vaccinated. Even kids whose parents request test don't receive if they're not part of the 10 percent. My son's mid sch won't test him either since he vaxxed.
@TeacherArthurG @findhumor8 Interesting. Public school? I'm in elementary of all places and it's not allowed! They are testing exactly one tenth of students whose parents opted in. I've been asking weekly.
@TeacherArthurG Agreed. Student opt-in is a sham. Only random testing 10% of those opt-ins is a sham. Refusing to allow vaxxed staff to test is a sham.DOE and Mayor are controlling https://t.co/Py56OmGYQA my elem school, we do NOT feel safe enough. Everyone should be tested on rotating basis.
@StevenJarret@soledadobrien . .and @NYCMayor endorsed that by forcing us teachers to work thru our vacation to,"keep kids off the street." (18 mos later, no money yet.) We so needed those days to reset with our families too.
@OGDigAgency You can do it! You were made for this! Congratulations on starting your journey. I worked ft and went to school ft. ๐ undergrad with bun #1 in the oven. Gave birth to #2 at end of 3rd semester of grad school and kept going. Life handed me ๐ but lil sis, I did it! Keep going.
@MsJoNeary And after the various school massacres like Parkland, Sandy Hill here in US., those morning affections should be encouraged anyway. The school must fix it; they have the resources to educate and ensure that no teacher ever does that again.
@MsJoNeary I'm so sad to hear this. I encourage my students and parents to "get that last hug in". It sets such a peaceful tone for the morning. My middle schooler son and college son both hug and kiss me at their schools. Insist that the school fix this.
@TeachinTweet Hi,what's this part mean?? As of now, my doctor wrote a three sentence note and I get full pay for five months minus $125 a day for my sub.
@ValeriaBrownEdu From a NYC teacher standpoint, the DOE has no plans for anything. They're winging it as they go along. My son shares a double desk in one of his classes no 3ft rule there. My coworkers classroom is stuffed with 1st graders. They're sending incompetent excessed teachers to us.
