People with bigger calves live longer.
A meta-analysis of 37 studies found every 1 cm increase in calf size = 5% lower mortality risk.
why?
Two reasons:
1. Calves pump blood back to your heart (the soleus acts like a second heart)
2. Calf size = a proxy for total muscle mass. less muscle → more frailty → earlier death
If yours are small: 3x20 slow calf raises daily. add weight when it gets easy.
